[Good news] Three of HBC’s projects won China Electric Power Science and Technology Awards 2021

A few days ago, the results of the election of China Electric Power Science and Technology Award 2021were announced. The project of the High-Temperature Corrosion Prevention and Treatment Technology and Its Application in Ultra (Super) Critical Power Station Boilers” jointly declared by HBC, China Huaneng, Xi''an Thermal Engineering Institute, North China Electric Power University, etc. won the first prize of China Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award. The project of the Key Technologies and Applications of Green Design and Manufacturing of New-Type Energy-Saving Environment-Friendly Boilers” undertaken by Zhejiang University, with participation of HBC, and the project of the Development and Application of the 1000MW High-Efficiency Wide Load-Rate Ultra Supercritical Unit” undertaken by Henan Electric Power Co., Ltd. under the State Electric Power Investment Corp., with participation of HBC, won the second prize of China Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award.      

 

 

 

The project of the High-Temperature Corrosion Prevention and Treatment Technology and Its Application in Ultra (Super) Critical Power Station Boilers” was jointly studied and declared by HBC, as the leading party, and China Huaneng, Xi''an Thermal Engineering Institute, North China Electric Power University, etc. The technology of this project has solved the problems that seriously hinder safe and reliable operation of ultra (super) critical power station boilers. Such problems include pipe bursting caused by rapid inner wall oxidation and severe corrosion of outer wall of boiler pipes, so as to reduce unplanned shutdowns to the minimum after the unit is put into operation and create considerable economic benefits for the power plant.

 

 

The project of the Key Technologies and Applications of Green Design and Manufacturing of New-Type Energy-Saving Environment-Friendly Boilers” has created a digital design theory and a process-system level general design system for high-efficiency energy-saving and environment-friendly boilers, and has achieved technological breakthroughs in multi-scheme and multi-process coupled intelligent design of high-efficiency energy-saving and environment friendly boilers. A variety of high-parameter new high-efficiency energy-saving and environment-friendly boilers have been developed, which have been identified to possess internationally advanced level by authoritative institutions. In the past three years, the sales volume was increased by 1.2 billion yuan, indicating considerable economic and social benefits. This project has been promoted and applied in many fields such as biomass power generation, waste power generation, gas power generation, heat supply, and iron & steel industry. Guiding by this project, technical progress is achieved in a variety of industries, which is of great significance in promoting and realizing the  goals of peak carbon dioxide emission and carbon neutrality.

 

 

 

The project of the Development and Application of the 1000MW High-Efficiency Wide Load-Rate Ultra Supercritical Unit” has solved a series of problems. Such problems include that it is hard to make the reheat steam temperature to reach the rated value within a wide load-rate of 50% to 100%, and that it is hard to ensure safe, economy and reliable operation under high steam parameters and in condition that the materials are not upgraded. The goals of improving the high-efficiency and wide-load operation capacity of ultra-supercritical units in our country and optimization of the operation indicators of ultra-supercritical units have been achieved. Under this project, one patent and three guidelines have been declared. Now, national level awards are applied for.

 

 

 

It is understood that “China Electric Power Science and Technology Award” is one of the first batch of 26 awards from social forces approved after the reform of the national science and technology award work. The award was established through approval by the National Science and Technology Award Work Office in March 2001, and the awards are granted by the Chinese Society for Electric Engineering. The award covers electrical engineering, hydraulic power. thermal power, nuclear power, renewable energy and other technical fields. It can reflect the latest achievements of China''s power technology development and is a “gathering place” for the leading scientific and technological achievements of international power technology development. Projects that have won the first and second prizes of “China Electric Power Science and Technology Award” can be directly recommended by the organizer to participate in the national science and technology award evaluation. The acquisition of such honors once again demonstrates HBCs strong strength in power equipment manufacturing industry and further consolidates the good brand name image of HBC.

 

In recent years, HBC has built a diversified and open scientific and technological innovation system with “national key Labs” as the core and with the four institutes, three centers, two stations and one department” as the main body; Relying on the national key labs, the academician workstation, the post-doctoral workstation and those labs at the provincial level or ministerial level, as well as the engineering design center, HBC actively responds to the national energy development strategy, promotes the reform of energy structure, makes efforts in efficient use of clean energy. It keeps a foothold on independent innovation, and strengthens coordinated production, education, research and utilization. HBC makes great efforts in carrying out R&D of fundamental technologies, the cutting-edge technologies and common industrial technologies in the fields of ultra supercritical (secondary reheat) boilers at 650℃ and 700, high-efficiency ultra supercritical (secondary reheat) CFB boilers, supercritical carbon dioxide boilers and their supplementary equipment, operation of the unit with enhanced parameters, improved efficiency and flexibility, comprehensive and clean utilization technology of biomass (waste), CCUS, energy storage, hydrogen energy, low-carbon thermal power generation technology and relevant equipment, providing important technical support for deeper advance and realization of the state “dual carbon” goal.
