The world first such equipment! A new record! Guangxi Shenglong supercritical gas-fired boiler manufactured by HBC was put into operation

The world first supercritical gas-fired boiler manufactured by HBC was put into operation in Guangxi Shenglong Metallurgical Co., Ltd. The smooth commissioning of such unit refreshed a few “world records” such as operating pressure, temperature and power generation efficiency, indicating the gas-fired boiler technology of our country reached a new level. The HBC brand name is actively helping our country''s metallurgical industry to lead the world in low-calorific gas power generation technology and leading the low-carbon transformation for iron and steel metallurgical industry.

 

The boiler equipment of unit #8, Guangxi Shenglong supercritical gas-fired project, with completely independent intellectual property rights of HBC was the world first high-efficiency supercritical gas-fired once-through boiler. The main steam pressure is 25.4MPa, the main steam temperature being 605℃, and the reheat steam temperature being 603℃, which are the highest level in the world in the field of gas-fired boiler units. The generating power of the unit is 145MW, the power generation efficiency can reach 43.5%, the annual power generation capacity being 1.06 billion kWh. Its direct economic benefit exceeds 500 million yuan, and the carbon dioxide emission can be reduced by 854,000 tons a year. The smooth commissioning of the unit will lead the iron and steel industry to enter a new era of efficient utilization of secondary energy and open a new chapter in environmental protection and reduction in carbon emission.

 

  

 

Since the signing of the contract in January 2021, HBC has attached great importance to this project and taken measures to overcome many unfavorable factors such as the epidemic situation in the century, rising raw material prices, and surge in logistics and transportation costs. We concentrated our advantageous resources to ensure the smooth implementation of Guangxi Shenglong project. In the end, it took less than 10 months for HBC to complete the supply of all boiler equipment. Among the supply, the main boiler equipment was delivered one and a half months ahead of schedule, which was highly praised by the users. In terms of on-site service, HBC adhered to the concept of “providing urgent service to meet the urgent needs of the project and keeping in mind the thoughts of the users, and the company''s leaders repeatedly visited the project site to inspect and guide the work. The user service department dispatched 3-member on-site service personnel during the peak period of project installation to provide technical support and installation guidance, and the technical, subcontracting, quality control and other departments also sent people to the site for many times to respond quickly to and actively meet the needs of the site.

It is reported that Guangxi Shenglong 2×145MW supercritical gas-fired boiler units were to be built by all constructed by MCC Southern Urban Environmental Protection Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. with the “EPC+0” mode, and the boiler equipment was to be manufactured by HBC, and the follow-up units would be put into operation in the near future. The gas-fired boiler is used to generate electricity through burning the gas. The main process is collecting the surplus gas generated in the iron and steel production process and then burning the gas to generate electricity. The gas-fired boiler is a magic equipment for the iron and steel industry to save energy, reduce emission and improve efficiency. The supercritical gas power generation means that the gas is burned in a gas-fired boiler, and the main steam parameters produced reach the supercritical state (steam pressure 25.4MPa and temperature 605℃), and then it is sent immediately to the steam turbine generator set for efficient power generation. The efficient utilization of surplus gas in steel making enterprises has always been the core technology for low-carbon transformation of China''s iron and steel industry, and it is of great significance to promote the low-carbon transformation of Chinese iron and steel enterprises and achieve the “dual carbon” goal. Guangxi Shenglong supercritical gas generator set was the world first fifth-generation gas generator set. Its operation can greatly strengthen the capacity of iron and steel enterprises to reduce carbon pollution. The smooth operation of the project was an indicator that the iron and steel enterprises had taken a solid and important step towards low-carbon smelting.
